We believe the biggest barrier to inclusion isn’t physical limitations, but how we perceive them. That’s why we refer to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) as Persons With Different Abilities (PWDAs). This shift in language emphasizes the unique strengths and talents each individual possesses. Instead of focusing on what someone can’t do, we celebrate what they can do. This reframing challenges negative stereotypes and fosters a more positive and inclusive environment. By using the term “different abilities,” we acknowledge that some individuals may require accommodations or assistance, but it doesn’t diminish their inherent value or capabilities.
